Starting Line Up: Kingston, Gregorace, A Hendren (c), Pleass, M Hendren, Rackham, Livings, Langford, Connors, Dundas & Matthews. Subs: Brizell & Benson.
This game on paper looked like Lambourn's toughest test of the season, Manager Clark faced with the task of selecting a side without 12 of his first team squad being available to him either through suspension, Injury or work commitments. Clark only had two on the bench, Assistant Manager Jason Brizell & Club Secretary Martyn Benson not the ideal situation when facing a side who are top of the table and chasing the title.
Manager Clark played a more defensive formation for this fixture with a 4-4-1-1 and allowing the Highmoor back line to keep possession and only pressing the ball in there own half. This seemed to knock a confident Highmoor side out of there stride as they continued to play long balls that Pleass & Hendren found comfortable deal with. Hignmoor did go close on 10 minutes after a defensive mix up gave Drake a chance but the midfielder fired over. On 17 minutes Lambourn took the lead a free kick from A Hendren was headed down by Livings for Matthews to smash home a acrobatic half volley for his second in two games since moving up front from midfield. The striker had a chance to extend that lead on 30 minutes after some great work from Rackham but he pulled his effort just wide. The Highmoor players were getting frustrated as Lambourn tactics seemed to have them baffled but on the stroke of half time the referee gave them a way back into the game when he awarded a penalty. Keeper Kingston seemed to take the ball but the referee didn't agree and pointed to the spot. Kingston guessed the right way to pull out a fantastic save low to his right. A very angry & frustrated Highmoor side left the pitch at half time and some very nasty threats were made to the Lambourn management team on the walk back to the dressing room forcing them to speak with the officials at half time.
HT 0-1
The second half continued in the same manner as the first with very few clear cut chances being created, Highmoor had the better of the possession but Lambourn looked a real threat on the break. The game exploded into life on 75 minutes, A Highmoor corner was headed home powerfully at the back post by Gallmore. Highmoor desperate for the win to keep them ahead of high flying Newbury Town FC kept pushing men forward and were quickly punished, Langford played a ball over the top and Rackham collected it showed fantastic composure as he rounded the keeper and rolled the ball into a empty net. Highmoor didn't give up and they got there reward when a goal mouth scramble gave Small-king the chance to prod the ball goal wards and offside player seemed to obstruct Kingston allowing the ball to roll into the net. Small-King had a chance to win the game with a free kick on the edge of the area in the last minute of the game. The vetran player with a fantastic free kick record over his caraee failed to find the right connection and Lambourn left Palmer Park with a deserved point and a little unlucky not to claim all 3.

Didcot Town Res 2 - 2 Lambourn Sports
Starting Line Up: Kingston, Brizell, Pleass (c) Keller, Connors, Langford, Livings, Mooney, Hendren, Matthews & Guy. Subs: Collins, Dundas, Best & Pagliaroli.
Lambourn travelled to Didcot looking to pick up 3 points against a side that have bottom for most of the season and who Lambourn had beaten easily at home early in the season. With skipper Bone missing through illness and with Willmoth starting his 3 game ban Clarke called upon the experience of assistant manager "Brizzer". The defender starting his first game since he was injured playing against Lambourn for Hungerford Town at christmas.
The game started at a frantic pace as both sides panicked in possession, Misplaced passes and long hopeful balls seemed to the order of the day. Both sides created half chances before a moment of class on 24 minutes gave Lambourn the lead, A quick passing move through midfield gave Matthews time and space 30 yards from goal and the striker hit a fantastic strike with his weaker left foot that left the keeper helpless. This sparked Lambourn into life and they were now starting to play there football and they soon extended the lead. Langford picked up the ball on the left and switched the play to Mooney with a 40 yard diagonal ball, Mooney's touch was instant and he beat his man with ease before curling the ball with the outside of his right foot into the top right hand corner a real moment of magic from the vetran striker. Langford was provider again when his cross was met at the back post by Connors but his effort was just the wrong side of the upright. Lambourn created a great chance to wrap up the pints just before the break, Guy raced clear of the back 4 and when one on one with the keeper the striker lost his composure and sliced the ball horribly wide with the outside of his right foot.
HT 0-2
The second half started badly as a set piece caused panic in the Lambourn back line and after a goal mouth scramble Keller sliced the ball into his own net. This seemed to set the tone for the second half as the home side realised young keeper Kingston was having a difficult time playing under the flood lights for the first time and almost drew level on 50 minutes when a deep free kick was spilled at the back post. Lambourn created a few half chances for Livings, Matthews & Mooney but they all failed to convert & on 79 minutes they were punished. The home sides excellent delivery from youngster Lewis Noble paid off as Crook challenged Kingston for a ball and managed to head home from close range. Livings looked the most likely to find the winner for Lamburn with some powerful runs from midfield and after some good play by Matthews and Dundas last seasons top scorer forced a wonderful one handed save from the Didcot Keeper. With that Lambourn slipped to 7th in the league and with tough trips to Highmoor & Maidnehead coming up in the next week they are looking over there shoulder now rather than up the table.

Lambourn 1-4 Finchampstead
Starting Line Up: Kingston, Pagliaroli, Keller, Pleass, Bone (c) Griffin, Langford, Matthews, Guy, Mooney & Gregograce Subs Collins, Dundas & Brizell.
Lambourn were left a little short on numbers for this fixture with serval players not available and top scorer Pedder leaving the club for Hungerford Town, Lambourn management left stunned after only reading the news that Pedder had left in the local paper. Manager Clark is still waiting for Pedder to explain his reasons for leaving but has been unable to contact the player.
The game started well for the Home side & they took the lead after only 5 minutes when Mooney delivered a quick free kick to Guy who's effort deflected in off Finchamstead's Sam Dunn. Guy came close again on 20 minutes after a cross from new signing Gregograce, His diving header was well saved. That was as good as it got for Lambourn and on half hour Atkinson pulled the away side level a near post corner was flicked on and the lively striker volleyed in from ten yards.
HT 1-1
Finchampstead started the second half sharper and created a couple of chances before they took total control of the game on the hour mark as goals Green scored from another set piece with a deflected effort and Atkinson wrapped up the points when skipper Bone tried to take a quick free kick only to see the ball deflect off a finchamstead player & into the path of Atkinson, His pace took himthrough on goal and he gave Kingston no chance with a calm finish. Green would his 2nd before the end when Keeper Kingston made a great tackle on the edge of his area and the ball dropped towards Green on the half way line, He smashed the ball on the volley and it dropped over Kingston into the net. Lambourn were given a chance of a consolation goal just before the end after the referee gave them a penalty for a shirt pull. Up stepped ice cool Griffin who has never missed a penalty before this game but his proud record was gone when he dragged his effort wide. With that miss came the final whistle & Lambourn were left to reflect on one of the worst performances of the season.

Update.
Sorry for the lack of match reports last few weeks I have just not had a chance to do them.
Here is a short update last Saturday the first team played host to high flying Rayners Lane after 4 defeats
on the bounce this looked like it would be a tough fixture. The game didn't work out that way and Lambourn created and wasted
lts of chances. Pedder & Best fired Lambourn to 2-1 victory but with two late red cards for Guy & Pedder took the shine off a good win.
Mom Griffin.
This Saturday we made the trip to Chinnor and were greeted by the worst pitch that we have seen for some time, Local dog owners seem to making full use of the playing surface though as young keeper Nathan Kingston had to have his penalty area cleared before the game. This was one of the worst games of football I have watched in many years as Lambourn struggled with the surface & Chinnor played the long ball game. Lambourn had two penalty appeals waved away in the first half and Griffin wasted a great chance in the second half. Chinnor's best chance fell to Braun but keeper Kingston made a fantastic reflex save. The game finished 0-0 and manager Clark added it was impossible to play any football on that surface im just happy we got a point.

Thatcham send Lambourn to a 4th defeat.
Thatcham Reserves welcomed local rivals Lambourn Sports to Waterside park and Thatcham fielded a strong side with a few of the first string needing minutes after injuries or suspensions.
The first half was a typical fast and furious local derby and Thatcham were slightly more dominant with Andy Tingle covering every inch of the middle not giving Lambourn time to breath and the front two James Clark and Marl Hughes making there physical presence known.
The first half showed few clear cut chances with Clark and Hughes with a couple of half chances but failing to get on the end of some good deliveries from Saddler and Browne.
Pedders had a half chance down the other end.
Half time 0-0
In the second half Thatcham started off strong and on 49 mins Andy Tingle intercepted in his own half and James Clark picked up the ball and drove forward to cut in from the left and smash the ball home.
On 60 mins Thatcham replaced Mark Hughes for Russell Benham who made an immediate impact with some good touches to help keep possesion and it was Benham who had two excellent chances to double the lead with a left foot shot that flew wide and a close range header that flew over the bar but great strikers instinct for getting in the right positions.
Benham soon got his goal when a ball was blasted up in the air and Benhams first touch lay off found James Clark who dashed forward and cut the ball back inside to Benham who ficked the ball round the centre back and slotted the ball past the oncoming keeper.
Shortly after Lambourn were down to 10 men when Kirk Vladamir "Vitali Rocky" Willmoth took a swing at Scott Rees and gave the ref no choice but to show him a red card.
Despite being down to 10 men Lambourn piled on the pressure but Bratt, Mandry, Butler and Bowler were solid at the back.
Full time 2-0
Managers Gary Tingle and Matt Robinson were delighted with the win.
Great credit to Lambourn, they weren't phased by our mixed side and were very well drilled but then with the managerial experience they have you can expect this. When we played Hungerford Reserves a couple of weeks they fielded 7 first teamers and we didn't have any and we were unlucky to come away with nothing, that is reserve football.
Away Report.
Lambourn Manager Clark said He has been pleased with the last two performances and we have been a little unlucky. Thatcham fielded a strong side & we pushed them all the way. We will regroup and go again on Saturday at home to Rayners Lane.

Ascot send Lambourn out of the cup!
Lambourn travelled to Hellenic Premier side Ascot on the back of two defeats, Manager Clarke was missing ten first team members due to cup restrictions & injury so called up res team duo M Hendren & Pagliaroli.
Both sides came flying out of the blocks as they battled totake control but it was Lambourn who came closest on ten minutes when Pedder's free kick was denied by a great one handed save. Ascot's front pairing of Spencer and Bennett looked lively and a quick exchange of passes released Bennett only for the forward to waste the chance. Lambourn created their best chance of the half on 30 mins as a corner was headed back across goal by Skipper Bone but Best snatched at his Volley when unmarked 8 yards from goal. As half time approached Ascot began to take control of the game and after having a big penalty appeal turned down they took the lead, A cross from left back Boddy was controlled well by Bennett and the striker lashed the ball past Petts in the Lambourn goal.
HT 1-0
Ascot started the 2nd half as they had ended the first and soon extended the lead, Lambourn were caught ball watching as a Smillie effort crashed back off the post and Spencer had time to control and slot the ball past Petts with ease. Ascot were now having the much better of the exchanges as Smille and Bennett both went close. On 69 mins Ascot got the 3rd goal as Lambourn stood appealing for a linesman flag that never came, Boon had the time and space to power a header home from close range. Lambourn were still giving everything and got some reward on 75 minutes when Alex Hendren crossed for Midfielder Matthews to smash home. As the game drew to a close Ascot finished with a flurish as Boon grabbed his second goal and still had time to be denied his hatrick from the spot by Petts after a foul on Stranding.

Unbeaten run ended by high flying Highmor!
Starting Line Up's.
Lambourn: Eggleton, Collins, Bone (c) Willmoth, Hendren, Livings, Langford, Griffin, Guy, Matthews & Pedder. Subs: Davis, Rowbottom, Keller & Rackham.
Highmoor: Egon, Bayley, Reid, Campbell, Eade, Theophanides, Griffin (c) Drake, Allayne, Small-King & Forde-Small. Subs Brown, Peacock & Ward.
Manger Clark welcomed Jason Brizell to his management team & Dave Livings back to the squad after his tramfer from Newbury Town but has seen Ben Mcready move the other way since the last game back in January. The weather finally warned up and we managed to get some football played for the first time in February & this one looked a tasty clash as top of the table Highmoor arrived at Bockhampton Road looking to upset Lambourn's 11 game unbeaten league run. With both sides having disciplinary problems this season it looked like it could prove to be a busy day for the officials Ref J Bird, Assistant's C Bullock & M Bullock.
With neither side being able to train for two weeks due to the snow and frozen training areas and the heavy pitch this was never going to be a free flowing game and so it proved.
Neither side created any chances of real significance in the opening half hour, Livings had a header sail over from a Pedder corner & Drake & Small-King both had long range efforts fly over the top. Highmoor started to find space after the half hour & were having the better of the exchanges. A quick one touch passing move on 40 mins created the first goal. Allayne, Forde-Small & Small-king combined to release Griffin and his powerful run took him through one on one with the keeper and the skipper made no mistake slotting the ball home before Eggleton could move. Highmoor almost doubled their lead 3 minutes later when a defensive mistake allowed Allayne a strike at goal but the striker wasted his chance. Lambourn finally sparked into life just before the break, Matthews turned and picked out a pinpoint pass to release Pedder, He rounded the keeper but his heavy touch took him to wide and he pulled the ball back to Matthews who's strike was cleared off the line.
HT 0-1
Lambourn created the first chance of the second half after some good work by Matthews & Livings set up Guy but the striker took to many touches and ended up striking a weak left footed effort at the keeper from 8 yards. The game was swinging back and forth and only a fantastic block by Eggleton from Forde-Small stopped Highmor extending the lead on 55 minutes. Pedder and Allayne both wasted half chances as the pitch started to cut up badly as the rain came down. Both manages made changes and it was to be the fortune of the substitutes that would decide the game. On 80 minutes a clever back heel from Pedder released Livings down the right, The winger drove the ball low to the back post & the on rushing Davis failed to make contact unmarked at the back post. Only 30 seconds later Lambourn centre half Bone got caught trying to over play at the back by the fresh legs of Brown and the substitute wrapped up the game with a cool finish. Lambourn looked shattered as Highmor started to run riot in the last few minutes and some desperte defending saw Bayley chopped down in the box and MOM Griffin stepped up to give Highmoor a 0-3 win. A flattering score line but Highmoor deserved to take all 3 points.

Match Reports.
Sorry for the recent lack of match reports but I have not had time to produce them the last couple of weeks. Just to bring you up to speed we have played twice since my last report. We have drawn with Penn & Tyler & beaten Milton both home games. Mark Bone picking up MOM v Penn and Tyler for a solid defence display and Matty Pedder impressing with another goal.
A game of two halves against Milton with Lmbourn racing into a two goal lead thanks to Paul Davis and Richard Guy both scoring in the first half. Milton came out strong in the second period and levelled the game at 2-2. They were only denied a point by a last minute goal by the inform Pedder. MOM Griffin.
The side are in action Saturday away at Didcot Casuals in the Berks & Bucks INT cup. A tough test as Didcot have already put Newbury & Thatcham out of the competition this season & were beaten 3-2 in last season's final.

Lambourn win 7 out of last 8.
Starting Line Up's.
Lambourn: Mckeever, Willmoth, Pleass, Bone (c) Pleass, Keller, McCready, Matthews, Langford, Connor's Pedder & Guy. Subs: Griffin, Dundas & Mcnally
Hungerford: Thorne, Brizell, Frank, Perry, Foster, Bush, Shaw, Corcoran, Griffin, Simpson & Tribes. Subs: Coventry, Allum, James, Mcgonan & Trumper.
Just as the game was about to start the clouds rolled in over Bockhampton Road and the players were hit with a heavy down poor of rain and sleat making the surface very slippy. The game started very scrappy with both sides misplacing passes as they struggled to come to terms with conditions. Set pieces loked the most likely way either side would open the scoring, McCready's delivery from either side of the pitch causing all kinds of problems for the away side. On 24 minutes it was from a McCready set piece that Lambourn took the lead, A delivery from wide on the right was headed home by Matthews, The midfielder scoring on his return from suspension. Hungerford failed to create much in the tricky conditions but when Simpson was given a chance the striker blazed over when he should of done better. However the miss of the half was still to come. Pedder released Guy one on one with the keeper and when Thorne went down early all Guy had to do was pick his spot but the striker somehow rolled the ball wide of the target.
As half time approached Pedder brought the ball down on the edge of the box and as he turned away from his man a strong challenge came in taking ball and man, The referee decided it was man first and pointed to the spot. Mcready stepped up and gave the keeper no chance as he fired it high into top right hand corner.
HT 2-0
Both sides came out for the second half to much brighter weather and Lambourn looked the sharper out of the blocks, Matthews released Pedder down the right and his cross was met by Guy at the back post but the striker saw his effort saved by Thorne. It was not to be Guy's afternoon after going through on 53 minutes the striker went down under a challenge but his half hearted appeals for a penalty were waved away by the ref. Lambourn were really pushing for the killer 3rd goal and some quick passing released Connor's down the left, The winger cut inside but instead of shooting tried a square pass that was easily cut out. With Hungerford failing to find there shooting boots on the afternoon Lambourn were coasting to a 7th league win in 8 games. All that was left was for 16 year old striker Dundas to find the target after some great work down the right by Pedder he squared it to Dundas who couldn't miss from 6 yards out.

9 man Lambourn get a point at league leaders Newbury.
Starting Line Up's
Newbury: Thomas, Piper, Peters, Green, Jenner, Livings, C Willmoth, Lachacz, Elmore, Jones (C) & Kalejaiye. Subs Madden, Wickens, Collins & Hill.
Lambourn: Mckeever, K Willmoth, Bone (C) Pleass, Annetts, Collins, Langford, McCready, Connor's, Hopkins & Guy Subs, Rowbottom, Rowe, Kingston, Dundas & Mcnally.
Manager Clark took his weakened squad to top of the table Newbury, With suspended trio Pedder, Matthews & Griffin missing he was also denied the services of Rackham, Eggleton, Keller & Hendren through injury and work commitments.
The game started with Newbury looking the sharper side, moving the ball around and stretching Lambourn. A series of set pieces resulted in serious pressure but no real break through, The closest they come a header from Kalejaiye clipping the bar. On 15 minutes a powerful McCready run was halted by a late tackle from Green, The tackle saw Green booked as he limped away. McCready dusted himself off and delivered the free kick to the back post where Annetts was unmarked but the defender misjudged his header and put it wide from 3 yards. Green could continue no more and was replaced by Collins. The referee seemed happy to use his cards to try and control the game rather than a quiet word that might of been more suited to such a derby game. Next into the referee's notepad was McCready as he caught Elemore late.
On the half hour mark a long clearance from Mckeever was chased down by Connor's the winger showing great strength to get away from Collins but the full back would not let Connor's go through on goal and was booked for a challenge 30 yards out. McCready stepped up and hit an unstoppable free kick, The pace and precision leaving Thomas a spectator as the ball flew into the top left hand corner.
Newbury got back to playing there football and soon had Lambourn pressed back, Some neat one touch passing on the edge of the box gave Elmore the chance to strike but the midfielder dragged his effort wide. Newbury would not be denied for long but it took a solo run and strike from in form striker Kalejayie, He beat K Willmoth wide on the left with ease and drove into the box finishing with a scuffed effort low to Mckeever's left.
As half time approached the bookings kept coming as Piper caught Guy late but Newbury kept the pressure on Lambourn having plenty of the ball without really creating any chances of note.
HT 1-1
The second half continued in the same fashion as the first with Newbury controlling possession but Lambourn always looking a threat & the first real chance of the second half fell to Lambourn skipper Bone as his volley was blocked on the line by Jenner. It took a moment of real skill to unlock the Lambourn back four and Elmore was the man to provide it as he took on 3 players, First Annetts then Pleass and finally Bone before striking low in the bottom left hand corner. Wild celebrations followed & this seem to set off a spark in both sets of players. The next ten minutes were frantic as the tackles flew in, A host of players going into the book as tempers flared. Newbury Skipper Jones lucky to stay on the pitch as he appeared to raise his hands to former Newbury defender K Willmoth.
On 70 minutes Lambourn levelled the game. A McCready delivery was headed powerfully home by skipper Bone allowing the Lambourn players the chance to celebrate in front of a crowd that had swelled to almost 200. With Tempers still running high Lambourn lost two players in quick succession first Pleass got a second yellow for swearing and then Langford dismissed for a lunging challenge on Piper. This left Lambourn with 15 minutes of normal time to survive and Clarke went for a 4-3-1 formation leaving young striker Dundas up front on his own. As Newbury pilled forward in numbers they were caught on the break and as Connors raced clear on the left he was brought down by Lachacz but the referee failed to produce a second booking for the energetic midfielder that the tackle deserved.
Newbury brought on Hill and his pace looked a real threat but the winger lacked convection when put clear by Willmoth and his chance was wasted. A free kick wide on the left was taken with real power by Kalejayie but he was denied by a great clearing header from Guy on the line. With Newbury now having all the ball the Lambourn back line was being well marshalled by Bone and Newbury were struggling to find the break through. On 85 minutes Lambourn almost nicked it when Dundas latched onto a long clearance and a clever turn took him away from Peters but the stand in centre half got back with a challenge that appeared to be man then ball but the referee waved away the Lambourn appeals and with that this feisty local derby ended in a draw and the players went away to enjoy the new years celebrations.
Manager Robert Clark was delighted with his teams resolve and said he feared for his side with so many players missing but the squad has real depth and i'm delighted with this result, It's now up to the boys coming back to earn their shirts back. He added that he has lost Collins with a back injury now but welcomes back Pedder, Matthews, Griffin & Keller for the Hungerford game.

Lambourn 2-0 Abingdon United Res
Starting Line Up's
Lambourn: Eggleton, Willmoth, Keller, Pleass, Bone (c) Griffin, McCready, Matthews, Connor's, Pedder & Guy. Subs Annetts, Hendren, Langford, Dundas & Collins.
Abingdon: Evans, Mundy, Andrews, Baker, Hughes, Fowler, Chrisodolod, Hall, Stanley, Hayday & Adeleye. Subs: Bayliss, Turner, Barrosso, Andrews.
With both sides suffering the christmas hangover this game seemed to be played at a much slower tempo to much of Lambourn's recent football and with the local derby v Newbury just a few days away manager Clarke decided to rest energetic midfielder Langford.
The first chance of the game fell to Abingdon after Adeleye found himself unmarked from a corner but the powerful winger wasted his chance as he headed over the bar. With both sides struggling to play football they both looked to take the direct approach and set plays seemed like the best chance of the opening goal. Matthews had a header cleared off the line from a McCready corner. On 25 minutes that both sides seem to spring into life some neat football around the Lambourn box gave Stanley the space to hit a strike & was only denied by a full stretch finger tip save from Eggleton. Lambourn opened the scoring from the next attack but the goal was more luck that skill as Keller shaped to cross but sliced his cross and caught Evans unaware as the ball sailed over his head and into the net.
With Abingdon trying to put the pressure back on Lambourn in the last 15 minutes of the half Connor's & Griffin were both booked for late challenges and Chrisodolod wasted Abingdon's best opening, The midfielder blasting over from 20 yards.
HT 1-0
With the managers words still ringing in the players ears Lambourn started the second half with much more confidence and started to move the ball much quicker. Guy and Pedder linking up well before Guy fired over from just inside the box. The powerful striker was not to be denied for long, A defensive mix up sent the striker through one on one but his weak effort seemed to be a routine stop for Evans but the keeper failed to hold on & Guy followed up from close range.
On 60 minutes Clarke shuffled his pack replacing Keller, Griffin & Pedder with Hendren, Langford & Dundas. This seemed to give the away side a lift and from a long throw Adeleye went close as his header crashed back off the bar. Turner and Hayday both went close before Hayday had the ball in the net only to be denied by the referee for what seemed a soft foul on Eggleton. With that chance both sides seem to accept the score line and the game finished with no more real chances being created.
